Ready to try one of my favourite “Minimalist Kettlebell Workout”?

Spread the love

Today I did my favourite “Minimalist Kettlebell Workout” which I would be sharing in this post. Actually, I prefer to use the term “practice” instead of Workout as StrongFirst recommends and I have realised it myself too, that I make time to “Practice” my movements and get a “Great Workout” as a result of it. If you are still in the “Workout” mindset, do try changing it to a “Practice” mindset and notice the difference yourself. Also, break out of that “No Pain, No Gain” mindset as a result of applying this new change. Once upon a time, I used to think that if I am not feeling dead by the end of the workout, I haven’t worked hard enough in my session. But after learning Strength Training Principles from StrongFirst, I realised that this mindset leads to injuries. Let’s cut straight to the chase.

My favourite “Minimalist Kettlebell Workout”

comprises of just 2 exercises/movements:

  1. Kettlebell two-arm Swings with 32 kg
  2. Bodyweight Pull-ups
Kettlebell Swings
Pull-up
Pull-up

What I do is I alternate between these 2 exercises and keep increasing Pull-ups from 1,2,3,4 till I reach 10. After each set of Pull-up, I do 10 Kettlebell two-arm Swings with 32 kg. The reps of my Swings remain the same each set. In total I end up doing 100 Swings and 55 Pull-ups.

If you want to try this workout without Pull-ups, you can replace Pull-ups with Bodyweight Push-ups.

It’s important that you focus on doing the reps in Swings and Pull-ups with proper form and rest enough in between sets or exercises.

If doing reps till 10 in Pull-ups or Push-ups is hard for you and breaks your form, then just do till where you are able to perform these reps with good form.
